Boiled Corn on the Cob

Corn on the Cob is so delicious and easy to cook! Learn how to boil corn on the cob on your stove top for the perfect corn! Boiled Corn on the Cob

Ingredients

  • Fresh ears of corn
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Remove the husks and silk from the ears of corn.
  2. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the corn.
  3. Bring the water to a boil.
  4. Carefully drop the corn in the boiling water.
  5. Bring the water back to a boil.
  6. Simmer the corn 4 - 7 minutes or until the corn is tender.

Notes

Keep the unhusked ears of corn in the refrigerator until you are ready to boil them.
The sugar in the corn will quickly turn to starch at room temperature.

You can husk the corn while waiting for the water to boil.

To remove the silks, hold the corn under running water and brush with a soft vegetable brush.

To check if the corn is done, pierce a kernel with the tip of a sharp knife.
